Mission

At Solar Tester, our mission is to safeguard the long-term performance, reliability, and value of every solar energy project. We provide independent, data-driven quality assessments across every phase of a PV system’s lifecycle, from material selection and factory production to installation, operation, and long-term maintenance.

Vision

We envision a solar industry where every photovoltaic system delivers its full potential—efficiently, transparently, and without surprises. By setting the benchmark for independent testing and data integrity, Solar Tester aims to be the trusted quality partner that empowers developers, investors, and operators to make confident decisions, reduce risk, and maximize long-term value across the global energy transition.

History

Founded in 2015, Solar Tester brings over 10 years of hands-on experience in photovoltaic quality assurance. Since our founding, we have supported more than 500 customers and tested over 50,000 solar modules across a wide range of projects. As the first company to introduce mobile solar module testing in Europe, we pioneered on-site EL and flash testing, setting new industry standards for independent, data-driven quality control throughout the PV lifecycle.

Our Team

Our team is young, data-driven, and built around a strong do-er mentality. We combine innovation with hands-on expertise across product management, engineering, operations, and installation. This multidisciplinary background allows us to move fast, think practically, and turn complex testing data into clear, actionable insights—delivering real value on site and beyond.

How long does a test take?

Depending on the number of panels to be tested, we allow one hour for setup and teardown, and can test approximately 30 modules per hour. This number may vary. We will review with the client how much time is needed to perform the test.

Where can I have panels tested?

With our unique mobile tester, we can perform tests at any location. For existing rooftop projects, the panels must be removed so we can test them on the ground. The client is responsible for this.

What criteria are used to assess the panels?

SolarTester applies the Version 3.4 criteria developed by MBJ (Germany) in collaboration with TÜV. If desired, we can also apply other criteria to the test results to achieve your required evaluation. Please feel free to contact the SolarTester team for more information.
